I have been traveling to Africa since 2016 and have experienced its healing power over and over again. It has helped me return to myself. To my Identity. My Purpose. My Power. Africa has filled in the missing pieces of who I am. That is why I returned with my own two children so they could walk the same path and visit the Apartheid Museum. I wanted them to feel what I had felt. I wanted them to know our history and know themselves.

Every sabbatical includes five-star customer service, a private room in a two bedroom apartment overlooking the entire city of Johannesburg, transportation from arrival to departure, nonalcoholic beverages, all meals, daily cultural excursions, wellness moments, and a signature coffee table book to remember your journey. You will inhale the sunrise and exhale the sunset with a full view of the city as you rest, restore, and realign.

All connecting flights within Africa are included. International flights to and from your home country are not included.

Our Story

Tierra’s journey from 2009 layoff, entrepreneurship, connection with Tory Johnson (Good Morning America), burnout, and becoming her own project. In 2016, she traveled to South Africa, where When Women Heal retreats and the Global Leadership Activism Summit began.

In 2025, we invested in our first sabbatical property in Johannesburg. A private two-bedroom apartment overlooking the city is now available to approved women in our community
